From Electrician to World Champion
Known as "Voltage," Rob Cross made history in 2018 by winning the PDC World Darts Championship in his very first season as a professional, defeating 16-time champion Phil Taylor 7-2 in the final. His nickname is a nod to his previous career as an electrician before he turned to darts full-time.
Career Highlights
Since that stunning debut title, Cross has gone on to win the World Matchplay (2019) and the European Championship twice (2019, 2021), taking his tally to 22 PDC titles. He's one of only four players in the sport's history to win both the World Championship and World Matchplay, alongside Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson.
